Coronavirus Safety in Prairie Village, KS

Dr. Chaney and the team at Chaney Dental are happy to once again be able to provide our patients with the high quality dental care they need. Following safety protocols and providing a healthy environment for our patients and staff has always been a high priority for us. However, because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented some new procedures to enhance infection control. Some of these extra precautions are for the protection of our patients, and some are for the protection of our team members. None of the precautions will be particularly convenient but we thank you for your patience and cooperation!

A New Look in the Office

Our team will look a bit different while wearing our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) but our service will be just as warm and caring. Unfortunately, our waiting area won’t look quite as friendly without magazines, beverages, and toys for the kids. In the interest of safety, we have removed items that would be touched by multiple people and could possibly spread disease. In addition to following the safety guidelines put out by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Kansas Dental Association (KDA), we have also installed five new medical grade HEPA air filters in our office. Extra steps will be taken to sanitize the operatories in between patients as well.

Appointment Scheduling

Because social distancing is also a thing at the dental office, we will have 30 minute spacing between appointments. In most cases, only one person will be allowed in the treatment room at a time. Of course exceptions will be made for someone to accompany children and others who need additional assistance. Please let us know if you have a family member who needs special accommodations. Unfortunately, these requirements may occasionally lead to a little longer wait time if something unexpected comes up.

New Check-In Procedures

In addition to the usual check-in forms, we’ve added a COVID-19 screening questionnaire. The forms are available upon arrival or we can email them to you. When you arrive, simply text or call us from the parking lot and we will notify you when we are ready for your to come up for your appointment. Everyone will have a no-contact temperature taken upon arrival. Please stay home if you feel even slightly unwell, whether you believe your illness is related to the virus or not. We are happy to reschedule your appointment.

Welcome Back!

Call us if you have any questions. There are so many unknowns about COVID-19 but we can all work together to keep each other safe while still taking care of essential needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
